OVC EXPO Introduction

The Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exposition and Forum（OVC EXPO） is jointly organized by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, State Intellectual Property Office, State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the People’s Government of Hubei Province. OVC EXPO was founded in 2002 and has been successfully held for seven sessions with nine-year’s experience of organizing exposition, participation of more than 3000 well-known optical enterprises and more than 20 consortiums, supports from at home and abroad. OVC EXPO has gained a niche among leading global optoelectronics professional expositions. 72 authoritative forums had been already organized to attract participation of 150,000 professional visitors and over 800 leaders of optical industry all over the world. The amount of the contracts signed in OVC EXPO has exceeded 51 billion. That upgraded OVC EXPO as the most influential, attractive and world-renowned, large-scale science and technology exhibition after Telecommunications Exhibition in Anaheim of USA, LASER-World of photonics in Munich, German and Combines Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEADTE) and Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies in Chiba of Japan.

OVC EXPO venue is located in China's largest cluster for optoelectronics industry—"Optics Valley of China" (East Lake National Innovation Demonstration Zone) which situates in a great city in Central China, Wuhan. It is the largest production base of optical fiber cable and optical components, the largest R&D base of optical communication technology, the largest base of laser industry and the unique base of Geospatial Information. The scale of optical fiber and cable production ranks first in the world, and it gains 55% domestic market share and 25% international market share. Optoelectronic device occupies 60% share of domestic market and 6% share of international market. Optical transmission equipments have 10% of domestic market share. The laser production always holds a stable market share of 60% in China and plays an important role in global industries.

The 8th OVC EXPO will be held in Wuhan Science &Technology Convention and Exhibition Center from November 2nd to 5th, 2011 with the theme of “Gathering Global Resources, Building a World Optics Valley”. It will be committed to the improvement of enterprise innovation, breakthroughs in core technologies, strengthening international communication and enhancing overall competitiveness. With a clear theme of high standard forums and fruitful trading activities, OVC EXPO serves as an important platform for international communication and cooperation in the field of optoelectronic to achieve mutual benefit and promote common development.
